Why a pavilion

The first thing you see, reimagined

Queen Victoria Hospital receives and treats thousands of patients every year. At its front entrance, a roundabout once housed a water fountain — the very first thing people see as they turn in. We believe our iconic and vital hospital deserves an attractive, welcoming feature in that place.

The Legacy Pavilion will turn that entrance into a safe, peaceful outdoor space — somewhere to rest between appointments, to gather with family, to reflect, and to remember.

“What if we provided an opportunity to get these stories into the public — accessible anytime, by anyone with a cell phone and a camera?”

We had our hesitations at the start. This wasn’t medical equipment, a scholarship, or a clinical project. But the more we considered it, the more we believed the community would stand behind something that honours both the hospital’s future and Revelstoke’s history.

Where we stand

Built by the community, for the community

We believe we can have the Legacy Pavilion built and ready by the end of this summer — but we need your help to close the gap.
