Ways to Give

Although cash is the most common gift it is not the only gift the foundation can receive. A gift by will, life insurance, gifts from an estate or trust, gift plus annuity, securities, real estate, or an asset with residual interest are other methods of contribution.

Gift Designation

You may designate your gift for specific purposes:
   – maternity / pediatrics
   – long term care
   – medical / surgical
   – emergency / out-patient
   – support services (ie: x-ray, diabetes care, dietetic, counseling, etc.)
   – community outreach or other health related programs
   – hospice care
   – scholarships

Planned Giving

Planned giving is simply a process of designating charitable gifts so the donor realizes his or her philanthropic goals while maximizing tax and other financial benefits.

A planned gift could be:

  • done currently (donation timed to limit any tax on the capital and obtain full tax benefit of the tax credit).
  • for the future whereby a commitment is made now, but funds are not available to the charity for some time (a bequest in a will).
  • identify your gift to the amount left after all beneficiaries have received their bequest (the “residue” of your estate).

Please consult with your financial and legal professional to find out more information about planned giving.
