About Us
Our Mandate
The Revelstoke & District Health Foundation was established in 1983 to fundraise, accept donations and manage funds for the purpose of disbursing to health related programs and actives in the community of Revelstoke.
Who We Are
The Revelstoke District Health Foundation was established in 1983 for the purpose of encouraging individuals and organizations to make donations for health related projects and activities in the community. The Foundation is managed by a board. The board consists of a combination of elected and appointed directors. The Foundation is an independent entity with no affiliations to any other organizations or government body and operates in accordance with federal regulations for charitable organizations. Monies gifted to the Foundation are invested prudently and revenues generated are for the benefit of the community. Funds raised in Revelstoke are used for the benefit of our residents and visitors.
Today’s healthcare costs are placing a huge load on our available tax dollars and Health Authorities are struggling to provide essential equipment and services. Your donations play a prominent role in augmenting those essentials with equipment and services that will take healthcare in Revelstoke above those basic essentials. Your donations allow us to purchase equipment so that procedures can be carried out more efficiently with decreased hardship for patients right here in Revelstoke. With these enhancements, more specialists are offering services in Revelstoke thus decreasing wait times and travel inconvenience for our patients.
Support Healthcare
The reality of today’s economy is that there will be fewer public tax dollars for healthcare.
Your donation will play a prominent role in purchasing equipment and services that will take healthcare in Revelstoke above basic essentials.

Margaret Zielonka
I was born and raised in Liverpool England and from an early age knew I wanted to work in the medical field . I chose to train as a Physiotherapist and worked for several years in Liverpool and Yorkshire in the UK. I moved to Canada in 1975 to take up a position as a Physio at QVH, I intended to stay for a year and move on but fell in love with the lifestyle that Revelstoke offers and made it my home .
I am married with 3 children and five grandchildren and enjoy the outdoors, volunteering at the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary and spending time with my family.
I first joined the board of the RDHF as a representative of the Auxiliary.
I am passionate about health care delivery and proud of the achievements of both the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary and the Revelstoke and District Health Foundation in their efforts to ensure we have and maintain excellent health care services in Revelsoke.
Steve Cross
Steven holds an MBA from Queens University and has been involved extensively in the outdoor industry for many years, including 7 years as the GM of MEC Toronto. Since moving to Revelstoke 12 years ago Steve and his family have been active in creating their own business – Revy Outdoors – and also in helping others. Steve’s many contributions to the community has included serving on Council, helping to create the Revelstoke Farmers Market, serving on the Poverty Reduction Committee, and the Mayor’s task force on Council Renumeration. He currently serves on the Tourism Revelstoke Board as well as on the Revelstoke District Health Foundation Board.
As he is fond of saying “community just doesn’t happen; we have to help make it happen”, and the collective work of everyone in Revelstoke in contributing and helping our hospital is something we can all be proud of.
